Dads Catching Moms

Washington, May 31, 2011 - Faced with tough budgeting decisions, consumers have put Father's Day on the back burner for years, but this year Americans seem intent on showering dad with their appreciation.
According to NRF's Consumer Intentions and Actions Father's Day survey, conducted by BIGresearch, Americans will spend an average of $106.49 on dad, up from $94.32 last year and the most in the survey's eight-year history. As dad gets more recognition, the gap between Mother's Day spending and Father's Day spending has narrowed substantially.

Total Father's Day spending is expected to reach $11.1 billion, up 13% from billion last year and 18% from 2009. In terms of spending more, less or the same on Father's Day this year, there is essentially no gender gap.

NRF President and CEO Matthew Shay says "Shoppers seem to be more excited when it comes to gift giving, an encouraging sign for retailers... and dads... everywhere."

More people will be taking dad on a special outing this year, spending $2.1 billion on activities like golfing, eating out or heading to the movies. Dads will also be receiving:

More gift cards ($1.4 billion)
Sporting goods ($653 million)
Automotive accessories ($593 million)
Electronics ($1.3 billion)
Clothing ($1.4 billion)
Home improvement or gardening tools and appliances ($1.4 billion)
Books or CDs ($598 million)
Phil Rist, Executive Vice President, Strategic Initiatives, BIGresearch, says that "... shoppers are putting more thought into Father's Day gifts and are seeking out the perfect personal, yet practical, gift to say thank you to the man who's always been there for them..."
According to the study, 35.2% of shoppers will head to dad's favorite department store and:

32.2% will shop at discount stores
26.9% will shop at a specialty store (electronics, gift store, etc.,)

Who is Na Pohybel Janas?

Who is Na Pohybel Janas?: "With all the information I found, and a lot that I didn't find about Na Pohybel Janas, the overall results tend to lean more to the idea that it is a either a Group, or a song the group sings called Na Pohybel Janas, and whatever the literal translation is, I know it is most likely Polish or Czech, as is the singer in the video above. This is said most of all, to have been an attempt to further popularize this singer and her band. In any case, they have succeeded. I just hope the girl really can sing.

If you looked this up and actually found something of more relevance on this topic, please share because I'm interested."

Blake Lively

Blake Christina Lively (born August 25, 1987)[1] is an American actress and model who stars as Serena van der Woodsen in the television teen drama series, Gossip Girl. She has also starred in movies, including Accepted, The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants, The Private Lives of Pippa Lee and 2010's The Town.

Early life

Lively was born in Tarzana, Los Angeles to actors Ernie and Elaine Lively. She was raised as a Southern Baptist.[2] The youngest of five siblings,[3] Lively has a brother, Eric, two half-sisters, Lori and Robyn, and a half-brother, Jason. Both of her parents and all of her siblings are, or have been, in the entertainment industry.[4] During Lively's childhood, her parents would take her with them to acting classes that they taught because they did not want to leave her with a babysitter.[4] Lively said that watching her parents teach acting classes helped her learn the "drills" of acting and gain confidence as she got older.[3][4] Lively stated that as a child, her mother would bring her to Disneyland twice a week as an opportunity "to have some extra time to bond"; Lively has stated, due to all the time she spent there, she felt that she "grew up at Disneyland."[3]
Lively was not at all interested in acting, but during the summer between her junior and senior years, her brother, Eric, made his agent send her out on a few auditions over a period of a few months; of the few auditions, she got the role of Bridget for The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants.[5] Lively filmed her scenes in The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants between her junior and senior years at Burbank High.[5]

Career

Lively began her acting career at age 11, when she appeared in the 1998 film Sandman, which was directed by Lively's father. Lively describes her role in the film as having been a "bit part".[6] Lively appeared in the film adaptation of the novel of the same name, The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants in 2005 playing Bridget, one of the four female leads. Lively's performance in the film earned her a nomination for a Teen Choice Award for "Choice Movie Breakout - Female."[citation needed]
In 2006, she co-starred with Justin Long in Accepted, and Lively had minor roles in the horror film, Simon Says. While Accepted was not well received by critics, Lively's performance was, earning her an award from Hollywood Life, in the category of 'Breakthrough Award'.[citation needed] In 2007, Lively played one of the two title characters in Elvis and Anabelle as Anabelle, a bulimic girl who hoped to win a beauty pageant. Lively said of getting into character for the role that she had 'shed serious weight' for her height. Lively stated that that process was difficult for her because food is “the No. 1 love of my life.”[7] MovieLine.com praised her performance in the film and credited it as having been her "breakthrough role"
Lively was cast in the CW's series Gossip Girl, which premiered in September 2007. She plays Serena van der Woodsen in the teen drama.[9] Her first magazine cover was the November 2007 issue of Cosmo Girl, where she discussed her time in high school and her career prior to Gossip Girl.[10]
In 2008, Lively reprised her roles in the 2008 sequel, The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants 2. Similar to the first film, Lively was positively received by critics.[11][12] As of November 2009, the film had earned over $44 million at the box office.[13] In 2009, Lively appeared as Gabrielle DiMarco, a minor role in the romantic comedy, New York, I Love You, a sequel to the 2006 film Paris, je t'aime. Despite positive reception from critics, the film had a poor box office performance.[14][15]
One of Lively's most acclaimed roles to date is her supporting role as playing the younger version of the title character in The Private Lives of Pippa Lee (2009).[16] Paul Byrnes, of the Brisbane Times, described Lively's performance in the film as being "sensational".[17] In October, 2009, Lively began filming her scenes for her role as Krista Coughlin, in the 2010 film The Town, based on Chuck Hogan's novel Prince of Thieves.[18] In the film, Lively's role has been described as "the sister of Jem and Doug's ex-girlfriend who has a 19-month old daughter, Shyne."[19] The film, which also stars Ben Affleck, was released in the United States on September 17, 2010 to critical acclaim. In an interview with Marie Claire, Lively stated that she wasn't relying on her career as an actress, having felt that having her own interior decorating firm would be a substitute as a back-up plan, having felt that because of her 'fascination' with "colors and textures and layering things."[3][20] In January 2010, it was announced that Lively would be cast as Carol Ferris in the up-coming 2011 superhero film Green Lantern.[21]
Magazine covers
Lively has appeared on the cover of multiple mainstream magazines yearly. In 2007, the list includes Cosmo Girl (November).[22] In 2008, the list includes; Lucky (January), Teen Vogue (March), NYLON (May; with Gossip Girl co-star Meester), Seventeen (August), Girls' Life (August; with The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants co-stars Tamblyn, Bledel, and Ferrera), Vanity Fair (August; with Kristen Stewart, Amanda Seyfried and Emma Roberts)[23] and Cosmopolitan (September).[22] In 2009, the list includes Vogue (February cover),[24] Allure (May),[6] Rolling Stone (April),[22] Glamour UK (August),[25] Nylon (November) and Marie Claire (December).[3] In January 2009, Lively was voted one of the top "35 Most Stylish Women To Look Out For" by Glamour UK.[26] Lively was placed at #33 on the Maxim Hot 100 List in 2009,[27]
Music video
Lively appeared in the music video for The Lonely Island´s "I Just Had Sex" together with Jessica Alba in January 2011.[28

Social Media Helps Keep 'American Idol' King

For the fourth year in a row, "American Idol" continues to be the top buy for marketers -- but it's not just traditional TV metrics that value the show as its main barometer.

When taking into account an entire show's entertainment footprint -- Web site, social, mobile and cross-platform usage, as well as press and personal recommendations, buzz and search -- Optimedia US says the 10-year-old Fox singing competition show is still tops.

Optimedia says its Content Power Ratings survey this year -- the fourth year it has done this study -- has seen a greater influence from social media for televisions shows. This continues to shake up its list.

"Content owners and advertisers are becoming increasingly aware of the influence that social media has on television-viewing behavior," stated Greg Kahn, executive vice president of business development at Optimedia US.

For example, Fox's "Glee" was ranked second, according to Optimedia, as opposed to its 55th-rank position when just looking at overall Nielsen viewership. "Glee" was in ninth place in the Content Power Ratings a year ago.

Better still, the show in fourth place -- cable series "South Park" on Comedy Central -- was ranked 211th among all TV shows, network and cable, in Nielsen.

Content Power Ratings said "South Park" had the highest number of online video views of any prime-time show, driven mostly from free content made available on SouthParkStudios.com. Because of this, the show's video views were 10 times over all TV series' average.

Many network shows ranked lower, according to Optimedia, than their respective Nielsen ratings. ABC's "Dancing with the Stars" came in third place for Optimedia -- but it is considered the second-highest entertainment series, per Nielsen.

Several CBS shows were also in this group. "NCIS" was seventh for Content Power; third in Nielsen; "Two and a Half Men," 10th in Content Power, fifth in Nielsen; "CSI: Crime Scene Investigation", 15th place in Content Power; 11th in Nielsen; and "Criminal Minds", 23rd in Content Power, 12th in Nielsen.

Other cable shows did well as compared to Nielsen ratings: MTV's "Jersey Shore" got a 19th placing in Content Power; 204th in Nielsen; HBO's "True Blood" was 20th place in Content Power, 206th in Nielsen; HBO's "Boardwalk Empire" made 21st in Content Power, 219th in Nielsen; and Showtime's "Dexter" was 22nd on Content Power, 270th in Nielsen.

Maureen Bosetti, executive vice president of broadcast buying director for Optimedia US, said: "This report enables us to tap into sponsorship opportunities across multiple platforms and amplify our client's message where consumers are most engaged."

Tips Cara Meningkatkan Pagerank dengan Banyak Backlink

Loh? Apa sih Pagerank tuh maksudnya?

Ya to?? Hehehe….

Belajar Bisnis Online untuk Pemula
Cara Membuat Situs
Bibir Sakti Membawa Berkah
MultiMedia and Software
anggaashari
SEO Jaguar
Kumpulan Penggemar Blog
seomacan
tenaga dalam
facebook

Cara Kerja:

Ketika posisi brada 1, jumlah backlink = 1
Posisi 2, jml backlink = 5
Posisi 3, jml backlink = 25
Posisi 4, jml backlink = 125
Posisi 5, jml backlink = 625
Posisi 6, jml backlink = 3,125
Posisi 7, jml backlink = 15,625
Posisi 8, jml backlink = 78,125
Posisi 9, jml backlink = 390,625
Posisi 10, jml backlink = 1,953,125

Selamat mencoba……

Mission Accomplished, Nonprofits Go Out of Business

By STEPHANIE STROM
Published: April 1, 2011

A few nonprofit groups have recently announced plans to wind down, not over financial problems but because their missions are nearly finished

A few nonprofit groups have recently announced plans to wind down, not over financial problems but because their missions are nearly finished.

Most notable, perhaps, is Malaria No More, a popular nonprofit that supplies bed nets in malaria zones. Its goal is to end deaths from malaria, a target it sees fast approaching.

The charity has announced plans to close in 2015, but it is keeping its options open in the unlikely event that advances against malaria are reversed.

“We never planned to be around forever,” said Scott Case, a co-founder of Priceline and vice chairman of Malaria No More. “We have thought of this more as a project than as an institution-building exercise, and the project is nearing its completion.”

So far, the number of organizations opting to go out of business for mission-related reasons is too small to call a trend. It is still far more common for a nonprofit to close its doors because of financial pressure, which is increasing as governments continue to pare their budgets and donors maintain tight grips on their giving.

Still, the novelty of organizations going out of business once their work is done has attracted attention.

“I don’t think it’s going to be a widespread phenomenon because there are a lot of groups taking on problems like alcoholism and domestic violence that aren’t problems that go away,” said Jan Masaoka, editor in chief of Blue Avocado, a blog for nonprofits. “But I do see that in some cases there is an opportunity for organizations to wind down gracefully and with their job done.”

Out2Play, an organization started by Andrea Wenner in 2005, plans to close its doors next year. The group has put up roughly 120 playgrounds used by about 80,000 children in public elementary schools around New York City and is fast running out of locations, in part because the Bloomberg administration liked the idea so much that it took on some schools itself.

“When I first wrote the business plan, I thought about expanding it to other cities or into other types of institutions, like housing projects or hospitals, and we talked about those ideas and others when the board began seeing the end in sight,” Ms. Wenner said.

Ultimately, though, the board decided that the model worked best for the purpose it had served and that anything else would require more than a simple tweak.

“For example, in a housing project, you would still need someone to take kids to the playground and supervise them,” Ms. Wenner said.

In the end, said Robert Daum, chairman of Out2Play’s board, “we just decided to declare victory and go home. Money is a scarce resource, and there are lots of other good causes out there, so there is no point in hitting up our friends and contacts for gifts simply to perpetuate the organization.”

Out2Play is working to complete roughly 40 more playgrounds before it closes. It plans to leave behind an endowment to cover some of the maintenance costs associated with the playgrounds, Ms. Wenner said.

“Right now, I think of it as very exciting because there’s a great sense of accomplishment that goes along with it, but I’m sure on the final day, I’ll have a strange feeling, probably bittersweet,” she said.

Executives who have closed nonprofits say a feeling of pride overcomes any potential regrets. “Knowing that we were going to close helped us work with extreme urgency and intensity and not slack off for a minute,” said David Douglas, a founder of Water Advocates, a charity that closed late last year.

Over its five years, Water Advocates raised more than $100 million. Its goal was to increase awareness of water issues, as well as to pull together the efforts of a wide range of organizations. The open knowledge that Water Advocates was destined to go out of business helped it encourage greater collaboration among those various groups.

“We weren’t trying to attract attention to ourselves, which allowed us to focus on the issue itself, and we were always looking at ways to hand off things to other nonprofit groups,” he said. “And we weren’t competing for money, which also helped us build relationships.”

British philanthropy circles recently have been talking about the decision to close the Otto Schiff Housing Association, a nonprofit set up in 1933 to provide assistance to displaced Jews. In its latest incarnation, the organization operated a number of homes for victims of Nazi persecution.

5 Ways To Improve Your Adsense Earnings

If webmasters want to monetize their websites, the great way to do it is through Adsense. There are lots of webmasters struggling hard to earn some good money a day through their sites. But then some of the “geniuses” of them are enjoying hundreds of dollars a day from Adsense ads on their websites. What makes these webmasters different from the other kind is that they are different and they think out of the box.

The ones who have been there and done it have quite some useful tips to help those who would want to venture into this field. Some of these tips have boosted quite a lot of earnings in the past and is continuously doing so.

Here are some 5 proven ways on how best to improve your Adsense earnings.

1. Concentrating on one format of Adsense ad. The one format that worked well for the majority is the Large Rectangle (336X280). This same format have the tendency to result in higher CTR, or the click-through rates. Why choose this format out of the many you can use? Basically because the ads will look like normal web links, and people, being used to clicking on them, click these types of links. They may or may not know they are clicking on your Adsense but as long as there are clicks, then it will all be for your advantage.

2. Create a custom palette for your ads. Choose a color that will go well with the background of your site. If your site has a white background, try to use white as the color of your ad border and background. The idea to patterning the colors is to make the Adsense look like it is part of the web pages. Again, This will result to more clicks from people visiting your site.

3. Remove the Adsense from the bottom pages of your site and put them at the top. Do not try to hide your Adsense. Put them in the place where people can see them quickly. You will be amazed how the difference between Adsense locations can make when you see your earnings.

4. Maintain links to relevant websites. If you think some sites are better off than the others, put your ads there and try to maintaining and managing them. If there is already lots of Adsense put into that certain site, put yours on top of all of them. That way visitor will see your ads first upon browsing into that site.

5. Try to automate the insertion of your Adsense code into the webpages using SSI (or server side included). Ask your web administrator if your server supports SSI or not. How do you do it? Just save your Adsense code in a text file, save it as “adsense text”, and upload it to the root directory of the web server. Then using SSI, call the code on other pages. This tip is a time saver especially for those who are using automatic page generators to generate pages on their website.

These are some of the tips that have worked well for some who want to generate hundreds and even thousands on their websites. It is important to know though that ads are displayed because it fits the interest of the people viewing them. So focusing on a specific topic should be your primary purpose because the displays will be especially targeted on a topic that persons will be viewing already.

Note also that there are many other Adsense sharing the same topic as you. It is best to think of making a good ad that will be somewhat different and unique than the ones already done. Every clickthrough that visitors make is a point for you so make every click count by making your Adsense something that people will definitely click on.

Tips given by those who have boosted their earnings are just guidelines they want to share with others. If they have somehow worked wonders to some, maybe it can work wonders for you too. Try them out into your ads and see the result it will bring.

If others have done it, there is nothing wrong trying it out for yourself.

Advertising Yourself To Friends?

Summary:
Tips on cultivating personal relationships as an advertising tool for your small business.

Keywords:
personal advertising, advertising tool, small businesses

Did you know many of your friends do not know exactly what you do to make your money? It happens more often than you'd like to think to small businesses.

Since people like to do business with friends, it is important you help them to know what you do.

Recognize that you need to educate your friends and acquaintances about your small business. Then they can become some of your best sources of new clients and promote you to others as well.

Right now you have lots of social and business networks of people who know you personally: from your clubs, recreational activities, school activities, religious affiliations, hobby groups and so on.

Your friends and acquaintances know you for the person and character you demonstrate to them in person. Your friendship is of primary importance to them. What you do for a living is secondary.

So it's up to you to tell them about how you can help when they (or others they know) need what you are selling. Your personal colleagues are valued assets to promote both you and your business.

Your goal is to become the "go to" person when your friends need your services. Instead of the "WIIFM" What's In It For Me formula, you want to get them to ask you "WCYDFM", What Can You Do For Me? In other words, "Can I turn to you for valuable advice to help me solve my problem?"

Sure, your friends may know what type of business you are in. "He has a garage, she owns a consulting service, he is a mortgage broker, she sells real estate" and so on. Sometimes, small businesses can have vague names, which cry out for further explanation.

So it can be quite productive if you simplify and clarify precisely what you do in terms your friends can understand. Tell stories. Give easy-to-understand examples.

You probably already have one or two "elevator" speeches of 10 or 30 seconds explaining what you do. Develop another version suitable for more general use.

When you tell others what you do, use your own personal style of story-telling. Take advantage of impromptu situations, and be sure to use your judgement about when to insert your message into the conversation.

Make it easy for people to talk about you with others in their own circles of friends and acquaintances. This how to use the multiplier effect: friends tell friends... who tell friends, etc.

In the never-ending quest for new customers and clients for your small business, why not take advantage of personal opportunities right there in front of you every day?

And be sure to learn about their businesses, too. It works both ways!
